Thni Kong Seh is a big day for the Hokkien folks in Penang. It may be considered as a more important day than Chinese New Year.

Every year's Thni Kong Seh falls on the 9th of the first lunar month worshiping the Jade Emperor. You may check out the folklore here.

On this day, the Chinese will worship the Jade Emperor with roasted pigs and sugarcanes. Since the Clan Jetty was said to be the pioneer of the Hokkien, so it's reasonable to host the biggest Thni Kong Seh in Penang.

Based newspaper, this event attracted roughly 40k of crowds.

It's now a trend to use camera to worship the deities.

Since the event was held on the main road of Weld Quay, the traffic is very bad.

Because the actual celebration is at 12am, the organiser has some stage performance to entertain the waiting crowds.
