The title Indian Summer describes a period of sunny, warm weather, after the leaves have turned or fallen and there is no snow cover on the ground.
Had a request to demostrate shooting in backlight as the initial plan for this shooting. The challenge of shooting backlight is the composition and the position of the light source, which is the sun in this case.
In order to get correct exposure of the main object, the surrounding of the light source would be very overexposed. Having a wide area of blank sky has to be avoided. If one perfers flare effect, just use the main object to cover the light source and leave maybe a little tip.
The shooting was held in Komtar Walk with Jackie. It was a really nice place for potrait but I hardly saw anyone shooting there before.
Jackie is a very gifted talent. She won the first runner up in Miss Rock World in 2010. The shooting went very smooth as she greatly knew what was the best posing and facial expression. The only time consuming issue was changing outfit since I shot like more than 10 outfits.
I purposely chose the the afternoon because of the strong sunlight. Under the shade, the sunlight created a very nice side ambient lighting to achieve the effect I planned.
Displaying very shark color to contrast with the dull color of the autumn grass.
Special thanks to wawa helping with the makeup.

This is a pretty famous haunted house in Relau. I'm not gonna go over the story behind it here. You may goggle it yourself. Recently I've been shooting portraits in those abandon houses/mansions in Penang. Of course this is the first series. If you like this series or if you think you have what it takes to be the model of my haunted house project, please do send me your contact infomation.

There's no sunny day and coconut trees for this bikini series. But instead it presents a feeling of holiday mood in a hut in a tropical zone.

This event was partially organized by the state government, led by a local photography group. Every photographer had to pay RM10 in order to shoot.

There's been sometimes I haven't posted any new portraits after all these months. Finally I dragged myself out from bed on my precious Sunday to shoot this wonderful girl. Maiko was very good in expression and posing. It was quite amazed that that was her first time on a planned portrait session.
Anyway, the location sucked. It didn't have any spectacular scene to include in the frame at all; therefore, using the biggest aperture all the way to bokeh out the dull background.
